Talk Like A Pirate Day 2025 Competition

Friday, September 19th 2025, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and we be celebratin’ with a contest worthy of the high seas! Show us your best pirate talk for a chance to win treasure from Real Pirates Salem!

Official Contest Rules 

Two ways to enter the fun:

1. In-Person at Real Pirates Salem
   Visit the museum starting Thursday, September 18, 2025, through Sunday, September 21, 2025, before close of business. Step into our Pirate’s Corner and record your best pirate impression with our crew.
2. Online
   Record a 15–30 second video of your best pirate talk and post it to your Instagram or Facebook page. Be sure to tag @RealPiratesSalem and use the hashtag #PirateSalemTalk before 11:59PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, (U.S. Eastern).

Deadlines & Winners

• Contest begins Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 12:00PM (U.S. Eastern) and ends on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at 11:59PM (U.S. Eastern).
• Winners will also be contacted directly and then announced on the Real Pirates Salem’s social media channels.

Terms & Conditions

• Eligibility: Open to U.S. residents only. Minors under 18 must have parent/guardian permission to participate. Employees of Real Pirates Salem are not eligible for public competition prizes.
• No Purchase Necessary: Entry is free and does not require admission purchase.
• Entry Period: This promotion is valid starting Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 12:00PM (U.S. Eastern) through Sunday, September 21, 2025, until 11:59PM (U.S. Eastern). Online entries must tag @RealPiratesSalem and include the hashtag #PirateSalemTalk in a post on Instagram or Facebook within the promotion period. Guests who visit the Real Pirates Salem museum and submit an entry on-site during the promotion period will be automatically entered. Entries submitted before the start date or after the end date will not be eligible.
• Content Guidelines: Submissions must be family-friendly and free of offensive, hateful, or copyrighted material.
• Rights Granted: By entering, participants grant Real Pirates Salem the non-exclusive right to use, repost, and share their names, likenesses, and submitted content for promotional purposes, without additional compensation.
• Winner Selection & Notification: Winners will be chosen at the sole discretion of Real Pirates Salem staff based on creativity, humor, and pirate authenticity. Winners will be notified through the social account or contact information used for entry.
• Prize Conditions: Prizes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and must be claimed within 30 days of notification.
• Liability Release: By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Real Pirates Salem, its employees, and partners from any liability related to participation or prize acceptance.
• Disqualification: Real Pirates Salem reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet these rules or that attempts to tamper with the contest process.
